I am here to brag about my amazing kids! Our County Fair is extremely competitive ~ And my kids went to the show to win! The results are in! Patrick won Grand Champion Breeding Sheep! There were 35 breeding sheep in this class! His lamb is called Twinkle Toes. She is going on to the Colorado State fair ~ We have high hopes for her and him! Patrick also Reserved Each class he was entered in! One of his lambs was second to the Grand Champion of the show and the other was second to Chance's Res. Champ. lamb. His Leather Craft project won Grand Champion and has been sent on to State fair to compete! Chance Made us all proud! He won Reserve Grand Champion Bred and Fed Market Lamb! He was also the Grand Champion JR. Showman! And Madison! She showed her bottle baby called Buttons! She won Reserve Grand Champion in the Open Market Class! There were 10 other sheep in her class! There were 125 Market lambs in our County fair this year! The market show lasted 7 1/2 hours.

I did NOT sleep at all last night. Everything that I needed to get done today was swimming in my mind all night.
The kids show clothes need to be picked up from the cleaners.
The painters are here sanding my house.
General entries for the county fair need to be entered today.
State fair livestock entries need to be signed by the extension office and mailed out today.
I have 2 breeding sheep that need to be sheared.
1 hog that needs a bath and clip job.
Pen set~up at the fairgrounds tonight at 6.
All of it involves running back and forth to town at least 3 times. 20 miles each way.

Well...Fair is almost here. It's gonna be a busy week at my house. Tomorrow we meaning mostly me get to clip hogs. This is something I have never done so it should prove to be an interesting time. Monday is pen set up at the fairgrounds. all the livestock kids and families set up the animal pens. Tuesday the kids and I will run out to the fairgrounds early (7am) to turn in their leathercraft projects and my open class mosaic and and eucaliptus (???spelling) swag. Maybe we'll come home from fair with a ribbon . As soon as we get home we have to start shearing our show lambs. There will be 10 in all. Weigh in is at 5pm and we have to be show ready to bring our animals on to the fairgrounds. The kids show their lambs on Wendsday at 3:30 pm. There will be about 140 lambs in the show. The hog show is on Friday morning starting at 8 am. There will be alot of running back and forth. We live about 15 miles from the fairgrounds and we still have as many state fair animals at home to take care of.

In the midst of all that the house painters will be here trying to get my house finished .
